Slaters Bridge, framed
Charcoal on paper, image size 68 x 50cm. Framed size approx 82 x 62cm.
An abstract take on a section of Slaters Bridge, Little Langdale in the Lake District, a 17th Century pedestrian bridge connecting the quarry to the village. I love the contrast of textures - of the worn smooth areas where thousands of feet have passed, and the rough where feet don’t tread, simply aged by the elements… The shapes of the stones too, so sculptural. A place of people and nature, stories and time. The water was so high when we were there, nearly reaching the underside.
Glass framed, local pick up only (Twickenham) Contact me for enquiries here
