Two favourite mountains commissioned for a big birthday… Kilimanjaro and The Matterhorn. Charcoal on paper, A2 (42x59cm).

So lovely to make a commissioned piece I have so many of my own memories with too. I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2013. Tropical rainforest and 28 degrees at the base, glaciers and minus 18 degrees at the top - so interesting to walk up through all the different temperate zones. It’s a long walk and a slow one too, with so much less oxygen near the top, but so beautiful.
